“That’s what you do when your neighbor has a broken seawall and won’t get it fixed. There has to be some action he can take in response, to correct the situation,” Sam explained. “Even if he covered those fourteen acres with two feet of concrete, I don’t think there would be the same resistance to erosion and guttering as when all those living roots were holding onto the soil.
