Christmas Kisses
““Holly,” he breathes my name. “I didn’t think you’d be here tonight.”
Everything about him is appealing and makes me think of his skin sliding against mine, slick and hot. I’m still standing. I don’t know what to do with my hands. I wiggle my fingers, nervously, and look past him. I nod, half smiling, not really listening. Panicking. Where is Mandy? “Mandy wanted to come.”
Ryan nods and speaks. His voice washes over me in a hot wave that makes my insides twist and my knees buckle. I lift my hands from the table in front of me, worried that he’ll notice that I’m shaking. I fold my arms over my chest to conceal it. Ryan’s blue gaze drifts to my arms, taking in the sweep of my breasts as they are pushed up. I refuse to move. Mandy will save me. This conversation won’t happen. I keep telling myself that as he talks to me, as Ryan manages to get hold of my hands, as he makes me melt with each passing moment.
