Maybe she’s parked in the garage, he thought, then got out and knocked on the door. Candy didn’t answer, so Monty figured she was already over his house with Mona, actually waiting on him. Monty turned around, got back in his car, and headed home. He looked down at his phone and noticed that there were voice messages that he hadn’t heard. As he was slowly driving, he dialed his voicemail and began to listen. The first was from Candy.
    “Hey, Monty, I’m trying to get in touch with you to apolo
...gize about last night. I was wrong for allowing another man to touch my stomach, and even though I thought I had a reasonable excuse, I didn’t. I am sorry. So, call me when you get up.”
    Monty continued to listen. The message was left at eighty-thirty. The next message was from Candy as well.
    “Hey, Monty. It’s me, again. I don’t know why you haven’t returned my call. It’s 10:43 and I’m kinda getting worried about you.
