“Sarah kept giving Seth worried glances. He’d meant to wink at her, convey she was okay, that he wasn’t upset with her. But then she’d laugh. Blush. Smile. It was all slowly undoing Seth in ways he didn’t really understand.
He waited like a loaded gun for that fucker to cross the line, hoping and praying he would. One touch. That was the deal he’d made with himself. One touch and that was his ugly lispy ass. Seth sat like a predator on the hunt, watching his kill come closer and closer. Even his dog seemed to sense the rage in Seth, sitting next to the couch, ears perked and alert. Seth knew if he hit the dude, the dog would join in on the fun. Dara rattled on and on about bullshit and Seth wasn’t happy with her. He’d sensed it not long after she showed up with this dude, the emo looking James Dean was merely a tool of trouble. Seth took another gulp of wine, his eyes straying from that bastard to Sarah. She was breath taking at five months pregnant.
