The empty bed beside me took me by surprise. Tiptoeing through the apartment, I found Stay meditating naked in front of his altar. Backing out slowly, I headed to the bathroom for a shower.
    Once dressed, I wandered to the kitchen in search of food. I finally felt hungry. “Oh, that smells good.”
    “Sit at the table and I’ll bring the food over.” He wore a short plaid robe, and I guessed nothing else underneath. “Would you like some orange juice with your coffee?”
    “Just some water pleas

    “Be right there.” He carried a tray over to the table and deposited our plates and beverages.
    “I’m starving,” I said.
    “That’s a good sign.” He leaned over, gave me a quick kiss, and sat down on the same side as I, facing the windows.
