“Tom, Jane.' The introduction seemed all too formal considering what they were about to do together. Jane blushed, and Tom grinned. He shook her hand with his left. Bad luck, Jane thought, but his right arm was still hooked to the IV feeding him a last minute dose of fertility cocktail. Testosterone, Jane knew, along with a concoction of other treatments with names too long to remember for anyone without an M.D. at the end of their name.
'It's great to meet you, Jane. Wow, you're really beautiful. Sorry, this sounds rude, but I was kinda expecting to have to impregnate some ugly broad. All for the cause, right Doc?' The doctor chuckled. 'Well, Tom, we like to think we do a good job pairing breeders down here. We're saving the country, but that doesn't mean it can't be a little fun at the same time.' Jane was a little shocked at the admission, and the image popped in her head of a group of gray haired old doctors leering over headshots in their offices.
