He had been forced into playing bridge, canasta, pinochle, and shanghai before when Grandma had been hosting a card party and they ended up being short one player.
When he noticed the time was nearly midnight, he knew it was way too late for another senior citizen to be calling his grandmother, so he decided to answer the phone.
