“I was staggering, only just able to make my feet move fast enough at a walk and not break into a jog.
He was breathing hard, his hot breaths blasting onto my neck—the feel of air that had been in his lungs made my scalp tingle and shot lust into my veins.
We were alone.
But he was crazy mad at me.
Which had been what I’d wanted, right?
“You’re such a fucking idiot, you know that,” Heavy muttered.
It hadn’t been a real question so I didn’t answer.
“Winding me up like ...this. Nearly having Trigger take a swing at you.”
I swallowed then grunted as my shoulder collided with the wall.
“This way.” Heavy dragged me to the left and flung open a door.
Anyone else I would have decked for manhandling me this way. I might be a rookie but I was still a Roughneck.MoreLess
