I just finished reading Assassin's Creed Black Flag by Oliver Bowden. It is a very fun book, and as you read, it gets more and more interesting. Edward is a 17 years old boy that lives with his poor family in a farm, in Kingston. One day, he meets Catherine, his future love. As the years pass, Edward and Catherine are not able to gain any money, and, if that wasn't enough, ( SPOILER ALERT )the farm where they live is burned by the Templars. Before I started reading this book, I had no idea about how, where, and when the story was going to take place, and when I found it out, I liked it a lot. I also like this book because the author describes everything as if it was real, so that you get even more inside the plot/story of the book. Maybe this book could've been a little bit shorter, because I think the conclusion is too long.
I don't recommend this book to people that don't like adventure and action, because they would be able to read it. I really enjoyed this book.

I like how the book is a lot different from the game. If is was just the same it would just be playing the game but not being able to see what is actually happening.

Ah, thank you for reminding me why I never read game or movie tie-ins--they're always poorly written. I couldn't finish this trash. It's impossible to suspend my disbelief and engage with character and story when there are so many inconsistencies, historical/regional errors and a passive writing style/voice with shallow character development and plot structure. So unless you are a fan of the game series and aren't a very discerning reader, don't waste your time.
