"How do you feel?" Mareea asked.
Like a barbell fell on my head, he thought.
"Kelric?" she murmured. "Can you hear me?" "Yes." He wished she looked less like Dehya. It hurt in a way that had nothing to do with his headache. It also made him think of Eldrin, his brother, who was probably enduring far worse right now than anything Kelric had experienced.
"Do you know what happened?" Mareea asked.
"Bashed my brain," he mumbled.
Her face gentled. "It wasn't quite that bad." Then her smile faded.
