Edna St. Vincent Millay was an American lyrical poet and playwright and the first woman who won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. She was also known for her unusual, bohemian lifestyle and her numerous love affairs. In this play she puts into a theatrical context sadness of human nature's lack of loving. This play is one of her best works, and it’s definitely worth reading.
