“Even Protopova was for once pleased with her work on the Kindertoten lieder. The Fauré songs she had sung many times and they hardly needed work. And at Anna’s suggestion they spent two mornings trying out some works she might consider for future concerts: three Beethoven songs, a setting by Duparc of Baudelaire, and finally Glück’s Orpheus.
There were fittings for a new dress. The question of dress for the morning musicales did present a problem.
