She wandered through the public rooms, but he was nowhere to be seen. Neither could she spot Luke, yet someone was surely watching over her. Alexande...r had promised, and besides, the prickle between her shoulder blades surely signified that she was under observation. She contemplated unfolding the fan for a moment, but she had no wish to panic any of her unseen guardians.
A footman approached her. “The gentleman asked me to tell you that he is waiting for you in the studio,” he said.
