“Tyler sat at the round oak table in the parlor on Sunday night with Sammy opposite him, homework spread out between them. Sammy looked as doubtful as Tyler felt about his ability to help with homework. “How about a snack to help the studying along?” Miranda put a tray down between them. “Do you have a lot for tomorrow?” Sammy brightened a bit at the sight of oatmeal cookies and milk. “Just my report.” Wonderful.
