“I couldn’t let Lawrence catch me red-handed at his desk. I quickly closed the file drawer, realizing I had about fifteen seconds to come up with a plausible explanation as to why I was in the room. Luckily the file cabinet lock was the kind that locked by depressing the mechanism flush with the cabinet. As soon as I’d clicked the lock into place, I stepped away from the desk and tossed my phone under the sofa.
