He had become a bit diverted yesterday looking at the geography of the Mississippi, the tenth largest river in the world, a...nd had spent some time considering the role of rivers in determining political boundaries (in this case the boundaries of Wisconsin, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Iowa).
