“They had probed and pushed, particularly the woman, testing her about the relationship with Steve when he disappeared to the toilet. Her face popped up at the bottom of the screen and she immediately regretted opening the video link: her hair screamed of Friday night fornication. But the rest of the screen remained blank. The caller was being cautious.
