“‘Good luck,’ Charlie shouted back. ‘Call me when it’s over, let me know how you got on.’ Experiencing a few gentle flutters of excitement, Jessica picked up the Prada briefcase Charlie had given her at Christmas, checked she had change for the tube, then closing the front door behind her, she started off down the street towards the underground station.
