he asked irritably. “That I would be overjoyed that we forgot to take precautions?” He retired to the kitchen table and sat on one of the chairs, turning it to face her and dragging another over so that he could use it as a foot-rest. He waited for her to tell him that chairs were for bottoms and not feet and her failure to say the obvious was proof enough of her mood.
