“Becca Haney bounced in and perched on the edge of Ethan’s desk, a small stack of folders clutched to her chest. She countered his pointed look with a wide grin, swinging her bright purple-stockinged legs and black Mary Janes as she continued with exuberance. “Come on. You could at least act the teensiest bit curious.”

How anyone with such a small body could contain so much energy was beyond him.
